Sarah was born in Portland Jamaica. She has resided in England since 1959 living  in West Bromwich and Smethwick. She is married with four children, and six grandchildren.  

Sarah has worked in a variety of roles including shop assistant, machinist, clerical assistant, team leader and canteen manager. Over the years Sarah and her husband have been foster carers for children and adults with learning difficulties.

Sarah has undertaken a number of voluntary community posts. Serving on a number of management committees and forums including Sandwell Multi-Care, Sandwell Carers Strategic Forum and Barnados Sandcastle Project.

She has been her Church Administrator for the last 8 years and also serves on the West Bromwich Street Pastor Steering Group, as well as being a Street Pastor. She is a member of Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust and has been a Member of West Bromwich African Caribbean Resource Centre since 1988 and has been Chair  for the last six and a half years.

Sarah leads the Ladies Prayer and Support Group at her local Church, is a Lay Preacher and over the years she has taught in Sunday School.
