COVID-19 Impact Assessment on African Caribbean Carers (April 2020 – 30th September 2020)

COVID 19 has had a disproportionate impact on African Caribbean Communities and Cares compared to the white British community, our research shines a spotlight on the lived experiences of informal family carers in the first 6 months of the pandemic. The virus has also exposed pre-existing health inequalities that are linked to wider determinates of health and social economic disadvantage that has been exacerbated by COVID 19.

Our report has made several recommendation to the Director of Adult Social Care Health & Well Being and Sandwell’s Health & Well Being Board and based on our finding and recommendation we have asked for them to review the Joint Carers Strategy and associated Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) and Equality Assessment (EA).
